ES Cells: Gene Targeting

VelociGene's primary service is to provide mice derived from genetically modified ES cells according to the customer's design. We have many "off-the-shelf" options to choose from -- deletions, replacements, reporter allele, point mutations, conditional alleles, and more. If you don't see what you want, please contact us. We will work with you to achieve your design goals. You can request simple heterozygous or homozygous mutations or create allelic combinations, such as pairing a KO with a conditional allele or compound mutations of seperate genes. The complexity of the design is up to the customer.

To place an order for our gene targeting service, please contact us to receive an order form.

The order form follows these three simple steps:

1. You choose the gene or genes you want to modify
2. You choose the parental ES cell line either from our list of unmodified lines or from our modified ES cell collection (please enquire)
3. You decide on the type of modified allele from our list of available allelic modifications.

Upon receipt of your order, we will contact you to discuss the design of your allele and, pending your approval, we will process the order and start the project.

Delivery times depend on the number of modifications needed. (See typical timelines) The construction of an ES cell line with a heterozygous mutation from an unmodified parental line typically requires 12 weeks. The delivery of breeding age VelociMice requires an additional 12 weeks. We will provide the customer with an estimate of the delivery schedule before the order is placed.
